On May 9, 2025, a delegation of 14 Iraqi scholars visited the China-Arab Research Center on Reform and Development (hereinafter referred to as the CARC), and the two sides exchanged views on topics such as China-Iraq relations, cooperation between universities and think tanks.
The delegation members are composed of experts and scholars from well-known universities and think tanks such as University of Baghdad, Nahrain University, Mustansiriyah University, Al-Baidar Center, Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue, Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning, Badr Research Center, and BAYTAL HIKMA.
At the symposium, the delegation exchanged views with scholars from the CARC. Professor Wang Guangda, Secretary-General of the Center, warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation. He believed that China and Iraq have achieved fruitful results under the Eight Major Common Actions of China-Arab cooperation and the Five cooperation frameworks of China-Arab. The two sides should take the second China-Arab States Summit as an opportunity to take real action to build a China-Arab Community with a shared future.
The two sides discussed topics such as Arabic talent training, teachers exchange, and scientific research cooperation. Iraqi scholars said that they look forward to promoting more memorandum of cooperation between Iraqi and Chinese universities in the future and conducting joint academic research.
The Iraqi delegation expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception of the CARC and highly praised the Center's role as a bridge in promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Arab countries. Both sides agreed that they will continue to strengthen cooperation in cultural exchanges, talent training, think tank research in the future, and jointly inject new impetus into China-Iraq friendly relations.
From May 9 to May 15, the delegation inspected scientific and technological innovation, urban planning, new quality productivity of China in Shanghai, experienced Shanghai's humanities and history, and felt the vivid practice of Chinese-style modernization.
