From April 20 to 22, participants of the 24th Arab Officials Seminar visited Hangzhou to explore China’s development of real economy and emerging productive forces. The visit aimed to understand the achievements of Chinese-style modernization and its alignment with Arab countries’ development visions, while seeking concrete pathways to jointly build the “Five Cooperation Frameworks” between China and Arab nations.
On the morning of April 21, the delegation visited BYD Company Limited, where they gained first-hand insight into how China’s new energy vehicle industry is driven by innovation to support the country’s dual-carbon goals. In the digitalized production workshops and full-industry-chain exhibition area, the Arab officials learned how BYD has overcome technical barriers through independent innovation and empowered supply-side reform with intelligent manufacturing. They praised BYD’s commitment to green production and technological advancement, noting that its development experience offers valuable inspiration for Arab countries’ own energy transitions.
That afternoon, the delegation toured the Urban Exhibition Hall of Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City, where they examined China’s innovation-driven strategy for advancing the digital economy and building smart cities. The officials were presented with a panoramic view of the National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, experiencing the synergy between high-quality urban development and the “People’s City for the People” philosophy. They highly commended China’s practical experience in promoting governance modernization through the “Digital China” initiative, calling it a “Chinese solution” for Arab countries seeking digital transformation.
The delegation then visited Hangzhou High Bird General Aviation Co., Ltd., experiencing China's rapidly growing low-altitude economy and exploring how emerging productive forces are empowering the development of three-dimensional transportation systems. The Arab officials remarked that China’s elevation of the low-altitude economy to a national strategic industry offers a compelling model for global development of low-altitude resources.
On April 22, the delegation visited Alibaba’s Xixi Campus for an immersive look into the strategic landscape and technological core of China’s leading digital economy enterprise. They explored how Alibaba is empowering global industrial upgrades through platform-based innovation. From Taobao and Tmall anchoring domestic consumption, to Alibaba Cloud providing infrastructure for global digital transformation, from Cainiao’s logistics network to DAMO Academy’s frontier research in AI and quantum computing, the visit offered a comprehensive understanding of how Chinese enterprises are activating market vitality through reform and cultivating new productive forces through innovation.
The visit to Hangzhou provided the Arab officials with valuable insight into the development path of Chinese-style modernization and offered a unique perspective on building the “Five Cooperation Frameworks” between China and the Arab world.
