According to the US CNBC website reported on the 6th, Singapore's polling agency Blackbox Research and market research agency Toluna announced the results of a poll about the anti-epidemic performance of 23 economies in the world. The survey shows that China ranks first with 85 points, while the scores of countries such as Britain, the United States, France, Germany, Italy and Australia are all below the global average (45 points).
Approximately 12,500 respondents from 23 economies participated in the survey from April 3 to 19. Respondents were asked to rate the survey on four indicators: political leadership, corporate leadership, community and media, with a maximum score of 100 points, China ranked first with 85 points, Vietnam (77 points) ranked second, UAE and India ranked third with 59 points. The fifth is Malaysia (58 points), and the top five are all Asian countries.
According to CNBC, the highest winner among Western countries is New Zealand ranked sixth (56 points), which is also the only Western country that exceeds the global average score (45 points), Australia (43 points), Germany and the United States (41 points), the United Kingdom (37 points), Italy (36 points), France (26 points).
CNBC also stated that 85% of Chinese respondents believe that their country will become stronger after overcoming the epidemic, compared with only 41% of Americans who have optimistic perspectives.
David Black, founder and CEO of Blackbox Research, believes that many people in Western economies are dissatisfied with the government's anti-epidemic performance, indicating that they have previously overestimated the ability of their governments to respond to unexpected events, which has frustrated the public confidence. Some Asian economies have previously experienced the SARS, so they are more prepared when responding to the epidemic.
