From September 1st to 30th, Professor Ibtisam Amili, Director of the Center for International Strategic Studies of the University of Baghdad, Iraq, conducted a one-month exchange visit at CARC. Professor Ibtisam was the head of the Center for Asian Studies, Crisis Research and Academic Committee of the Center and is currently the Director of the Center for International Strategic Studies.
During the visit, Professor Ibtisam completed a series of lectures, exchange visits, translation proofreading, and think tank support.
From September 16th to 20th, Professor Ibtisam brought three keynote lectures for Arabic-speaking graduate students on topics such as China's Middle East Policy after 2001, External Intervention in the Syrian Crisis and Introduction to Arabic Academic Paper Writing.
Professor Ibtisam also had in-depth discussions with the visiting Algerian media group, the Oman government youth cadres delegation and the Eighth Arab officials Seminar on China-Arab relations, China-Arab cooperation, the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the current Middle East issues.
On September 28th, Professor Zhu Weili, Director of the Center's Experts Committee, met with Professor Ibtisam at Hongkou Campus. Professor Zhu Weili expressed his welcome and gratitude to Professor Ibtisam. They exchanged views on the experience of China's reform and development and the prospects for Sino-Iranian cooperation. Finally, Professor Zhu Weili once again expressed his welcome and hoped that Professor Ibtisam would return to CARC for working exchanges in the future.
On the eve of National Day, Professor Ibtisam also went to Beijing for a visit. She said that she is very honored to come to China on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and witnesses the great development achievements of the Chinese people.
