On the afternoon of July 2, the graduation ceremony of the first “Belt and Road” special seminar of CARC was held at the SISU Songjiang Campus. Jiang Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee of SISU, Honorary Chairman of CARC; Rao Huihua, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Center of the International Department of CPC Central Committee; Abdulmanim Wahdan, Vice-President of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (“Fatah”); Walid Ashkar, member of the Politburo of the Lebanese Free National Front; Abu Dhaman Yazdi, member of the Political Bureau of the National Federation of Free People in Morocco; Yu Hailin, Counselor of the International Exchange Center of the International Department of CPC Central Committee; You Kaijun, Second Secretary of the International Exchange Center of the International Department of CPC Central Committee; Wang Zheng, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Cooperation and Exchange Office of SISU, and Sun Zidong, Deputy Director of Party Office of SISU, and all the participants of the seminar attended the ceremony. The graduation ceremony was hosted by Wang Guangda, Secretary-General and Executive Director of CARC Central Council.
Secretary Jiang Feng delivered a speech
On behalf of SISU and CARC, Secretary Jiang Feng expressed his congratulations to the successful completion of the political party representatives, and expressed his gratitude to the International Department of CPC Central Committee for fully affirming this training. Secretary Jiang said that the ten-day being-with have made us like brothers and sisters. The friendship between China and Arab countries is very precious, the exchanges and solidarity are equally important for both sides. The exchanges of ideas has strengthened the confidence for future cooperation. Only by understanding each other and forming a consensus, the friendship between China and Arab countries can last longer. Secretary Jiang emphasized that the “Belt and Road” will bring the two great nations closer, and realize a common prosperity and development.
Deputy Director Rao Huihua delivered a speech
In her speech, Deputy Director Rao Huihua expressed his congratulations to the participants on the successful training completion, and expressed her gratitude to SISU and CARC. Deputy Director Rao said that the human interaction of World is deeper and wider than ever before, the countries are more connected and interdependent. During the seminar, the friends from Arab countries exchanged ideas, learned from each other, and sought common peace and development. The International Department will continue to hold seminars with SISU and CARC. It is hoped that the political parties in the Arab countries will send representatives again to participate the seminar.

Abdulmanim Wahdan, the representative of the participants, Assistant to the Vice-President of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, expressed his gratitude to the CPC for sharing the experience of socialist governance with Chinese characteristics. He expressed the hope that the “Belt and Road” Initiative will create opportunities to help Palestine achieve openness and development, solve problems such as poverty and unemployment, and hoped that the CPC can continue to support the “two-state plan” to promote the early resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli issue.

Wali Ashkar, member of the Political Bureau of the Lebanese Free National Front, pointed out that the world today is developing in a direction of mutual dependence and integration. Therefore, countries must actively promote global and regional cooperation in various fields. The “Belt and Road” Initiative is a stage to provide cooperation opportunities for all countries in a multi-polarized framework, to create an international environment of peace and stability, and to vigorously refute the “Clash of Civilizations”. It is hoped that China will continue to help maintain stability in the Middle East and promote Sino-Arab educational and cultural cooperation. He specifically mentioned that the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan on the 29th was a signal of positive changes in relations between China and the United States. Sino-US trade frictions should be resolved through sincere economic and trade consultations.

Abu Dhaman Yazdi, member of the Political Bureau of the National Federation of Free People in Morocco, expressed his gratitude to the International Department and SISU. He said that after several days of training and study, the participants really felt the key role played by the CPC in building a new China and safeguarding the people's happy life. The experience of China's reform and development has inspired Morocco to innovate its development model based on its national conditions. The CPC is concerned about the improvement of the living standards of common people and the development of social services and education. SISU is an institution of higher learning that values the cultivation of international talents.

The Xinhua News Agency, CCTV English, Arabic Channel and some Arab media reported on the seminar and interviewed representatives of political parties in the Arab countries on issues related to China-Arab relations and the resumption of trade consultations between China and the United States.
