On the morning of June 22, the graduation ceremony of the Seventh Arab Officials Seminar of CARC was held at Songjiang Campus of SISU. Li Chengwen, Ambassador of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, Board Chairman of CARC; Li Yansong, President of SISU, Director of CARC; Zhu Weilie, Director of CARC Experts Committee; Wang Zheng, Deputy Director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office, all the participants of seminar and representatives of teachers and students from the Arabic language department attended the ceremony. The graduation ceremony was hosted by Wang Guangda, Secretary-General and Executive Director of the CARC Council.
President Li Yansong Delivered a speech
President Li Yansong made a speech first and congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the ten-day training. President Li pointed out that after years of turmoil, Syria entered the post-war reconstruction stage. China is willing to accompany Syria on the road of reform and development, peace and stability. In addition to continuing to provide humanitarian assistance to Syria, China also welcomes Syria to participate in the “Belt and Road” initiative in appropriate fields and appropriate projects. He said that the center is willing to actively cooperate with Syria in the professional training and cadres team building. He particularly mentioned the Asian Civilization Dialogue Conference held before long. He hoped all the parties spare no efforts to deepen the people-to-people exchanges between China and Syria.
Director Mohamed Abdin delivered a speech
Participant Representative, Director of the Engineering Research and Consulting Bureau of the Syrian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Mohamed Abdin expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal Government, Shanghai International Studies University, Yangzhou Municipal Government and the staff and volunteers of CARC. He said that Syria regards China as a friendly country and thanks China for its support of safeguarding Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity. In the past ten days, the participants have personally experienced the development achievements of China's reform and opening up through a series of lectures and visits, especially the exchanges with CCCC, Shanghai Electric and other enterprises, which provides inspirations in the reconstruction of Syria. He stressed that Syria is located in the core of the Silk Road and is willing to actively participate in the “Belt and Road initiative. He hoped that China will become an important participant in Syria's reconstruction and support Syria's enrollment in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

Ambassador Li Chengwen congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the training and thanked CARC for their hard work in organizing the seminar. Ambassador Li pointed out that despite the turmoil in Syria in recent years, the general direction of Sino-Syrian friendship has not changed. On the Syrian issue, China has always adhered to a political solution and actively persuaded and promoted mutual talks. He emphasized that the reconstruction is not only the urgent requirement of the Syrian people, but also the fundamental guarantee for the realization of long-term stability. The Chinese side is willing to actively participate in the development and reconstruction of Syria. It is believed that as the situation in Syria improves, more Chinese enterprises will actively participate in Syrian reconstruction and jointly create a better tomorrow for Sino-Syrian relations.
