Sudanese Media Delegation Visited CARC

On the afternoon of November 1, nine representatives from five Sudanese mainstream media led by Namat Mustafa, chief reporter of the Sudanese Vision, visited CARC. Gong Xiaosheng, Former Special Envoy of China's Middle East Issue, Special Researcher to the Center, and Wang Guangda, Executive Director of the Center, had a discussion with the Sudanese media delegation at the International Education Center of SISU Songjiang Campus.

 

The delegation first visited the central photo exhibition, to learn more about the development history and construction of the center. The media representatives expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the efforts from the Center for China-Arab friendly exchanges. It is hoped that the Center will continue to contribute to the promotion of China-Arab friendship and cooperation.


 


During the discussion and exchanges, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on China-Arab reform and development experience, academic and people-to-people exchanges between China and Arab countries. The Sudanese media press group said that the media is a window to connect the internal world and the outside world. The new Sudanese government hopes to benefit from China's reform and development experience. The Sudanese media should play its relevant role in this process. Although CARC has a short history, it has achieved remarkable achievements and has broad prospects. In the future, it is hoped that the Center will organize more activities and strengthen the cultural exchanges between China and Arab countries. Gong Xiaosheng, Former Special Envoy of China's Middle East Issue, Special Research to the Center, said that Sudan is one of China's closest partners in the Arab world. China has always paid close attention to the development of the situation in Sudan. It is very gratifying to see Sudan achieve stability and the development in economic situation. China will continue to firmly support Sudan in achieving major achievements through reform and development. Professor Wang gave a brief about the seminars held by the Center, think tank research and exchanges. He also hoped that the Sudanese media journalists will be the promoter of Sino-Sudan friendship, objective reporter on the achievements of China's reform and opening up through this firsthand experience.


 


In addition, the center also organized a special course for them to experience the Chinese traditional calligraphy culture.


 

On the morning of October 31, the day before the visit of the Sudanese press group, the Sudanese student delegation also visited CARC, which consisted of one Chinese teacher and nine students from department of Chinese language and literature of five universities, with whom Associate Professor Chen Yueyang exchanged views on Chinese stories and Chinese culture. The Sudanese students expressed their love for China. The friendship between the two sides was lighted in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
